As soon as Mauve had gotten back from her jog, she went straight to the shower for a quick wash. She was easily distracted by the smallest things and Mauve wanted to make an impression of her fellow Gale, especially with the label ‘Newbie’ tagged on her.
She pulled her hair into a pony, sliding on a more comfortable outfit and making her way to the shooting range, her pistol crossbow slung over her shoulder. She eyed the many other assassin’s in the building as she made her way through the maze of connecting tunnels. She was still unsure about her decision to join the League, but she had figured that it would be a better life for her rather than on the streets.
She pushed open the door and smiled at Indigo as she moved to stand behind her, returning her wave. She looked over the Pistol bow in Indigo’s hand and admired the handwork. It was a much newer model compared to her own, but the bells and whistles were almost exactly the same.
“I like it,” She said, motioning towards it.
Indigo looked up, a little smile on her face. “Thanks,” she said. “I saw it on the internet one night, and I knew I just had to have it. My old one was about to give up the ghost, anyway.” She pulled on her practice gloves and removed one of the arrows from her sheath, idly tapping the tip against her leg. Then did a double take because it was one of the explosive arrows Viridian had made for her, and she scrambled to put it away.
“Christ, that could have been bad,” she said with a snort. “I know they’re all for us practicing and getting better, but I think they’d frown on me actually blowing up the archery range, mercenary or not. They’d probably toss me out on my ear.” She removed a different arrow, carefully checking it this time to make sure it was simply an ordinary one.
“Alright,” she said. “Was there anything in particular you wanted to practice? I obviously don’t know everything, but I was doing archery even before the League, so I can try and help, if you want that.”
